On the Sidewalks of New York is a weekly feature on Human Events in which Jacqueline Toboroff, a native New Yorker, will share her candid observations and comments on what’s happening in our nation’s greatest city. Wherever you live, and no matter how you feel, there is no escaping the fact that New York City matters.
News flash for New York PARENTS: Have you heard about New York State Assembly Bill A9963 now in committee?
On April 21, the New York State Senate, rigidly controlled by Democrats, passed a bill to strip parents of rights. The bill “Refers to authorizing certain minors to consent to medical, dental, health, mental health, or hospital services.” Co-sponsors are Amy Paulin, Maritza Davila, Jo Anne Simon, Karines Reyes and Eddie Gibbs.
Pursuant to the Public Health Law, the summary of the Bill; “Authorizes minors to consent to medical, dental, health, mental health, or hospital services if they understand the need, nature, and reasonably foreseeable risks and benefits involved, as well as the alternatives thereto.”
This bill is BIG business and has received almost zero attention and no public discussion. It is the modus operandi for the left in New York to put their words into motion. Since CRT was incorporated into schools starting in June 2020, layered messages have been passed down to young children from kindergarten to college students.
Next, all parents, regardless of party affiliation, must share the bill with their network. The collaborationist media are not going to publicize the bill, they are going to suppress it. Lastly, we need to elect candidates for public office who will challenge and change this culture of turning children into agents of the state.
We must make the Left speak out with the against parents and the anti child party. If we don’t want the left to indoctrinate children, we must challenge the media. The alignment between the State and the media has meant that destructive policies are not questioned. A one-point-of-view party that controls the state and the city to the exclusion of a different point-of-view is nothing more than a dictatorship. The parents of the state and the city of New York must unite as they did in Virginia.
We have seen destructive policy after destructive policy imposed because the few voices trying to set the record straight are ridiculed, misquoted, and labeled as radicals, fascists, Nazis, homophobes, and insurrectionists.
In the span of two years, government employees, unelected bureaucrats, and journalists have fed us crazy stuff. MSNBC’s Joy Reid pushed hard on the lie that CRT is not taught in schools; “Maybe they should choose a different bogus analogy for this seemingly scary graduate level/law school theoretical school of thought that isn’t taught in a single K-12 school? Or maybe I just have the balls to come on the #1619Project and anti-racist education by name…” Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor lied and said, “We have over 100,000 children, like we’ve never had before, in serious condition and many on ventilators.” AFT (American Federation of Teachers) President Boss Randi Weingarten agrees with a letter calling concerned parents “domestic terrorists.” Its importance for leftist doctrine cannot be overstated; donations, foot soldiers and a politicized teaching core.
the problem It is notthat there are Democrats in New York. the problem it is they have one point of view and oppose any second point of view. We are being fed outright lies by a grotesque firing squad that has its mitts on making dubious laws and the power to enforce them.
Democratic voters in New York say their party is pro-women. Hochul is making the November 8 election on the reversal of Roe vs. Wade, framing it as the end of a woman’s right to have an abortion. This is a falsehood, he writes it big; abortion has been returned to the states as their right to manage medical problems since 1789. Anyone can get an abortion in New York, just as they could during the Roe period. Roe’s misrepresentation is a step on the slippery slope to another political disinformation; tolerance of crime, support for the mentally disturbed who roam the streets, gender dysmorphia, and now Bill A9963.
